About

Hello! I’m Laura, a UK Registered Dietitian and Health Writer

I’m fascinated by how food makes us feel, think and live, and I’m passionate about helping you understand the relationship between what goes on your plate and what happens in your body!

My journey into nutrition started almost 20 years ago. In my teenage years I wanted to be a chef - I’d always had a passion for food, but a home economics class changed my direction, thanks to a lesson detailing the nutrients found in an egg. I was hooked!

I went on to complete a masters degree in human nutrition and a postgraduate degree in dietetics, qualifying as a dietitian in 2012. I have specialist experience in irritable bowel syndrome, gut health and weight management, but I have worked across a broad range of fields including sports nutrition, employee wellbeing, and mindful eating.

I’ve come to realise that it’s not just about what we eat, but why we eat – understanding how emotions, habits and lifestyles affect our eating habits is a big part of the puzzle. I’m convinced that tuning into our body’s regulatory signals (hunger and satiety) and finding what feels good is key in achieving a happy healthy relationship with food.
